What is implied by the reaction to the despicable behavior of prominent men is that because a privileged man can engage in such behavior, then most if not all men are just as capable of such pig-like behavior. Why? In this culture of institutionalized Misandry (men=bad, women=good) such televised behavior just reinforces the notion that men in general are the pigs that society assumes them to be.
