I think that the influence of the New Age in the country is ultimately what elected Obama. New Age thinking has been a big influence in society for about 20 or 30 years now, and a lot of people who are influenced by it don't realize and if asked may not even know how to define New Age(it can be kind of hard to pin down) Remember that Oprah was a big booster of Obama at an early and crucial time and that she is also a big booster of many New Age people, such as Deepak Chopra and Eckhardt Tolle. I'm surprised that more people did not pick up on this, or grasp the true significance of Oprah campaigning for him.

Now that is not to say that Obama himself is a New Ager or that his administration has a lot of New Age people in it. On...

I've been listening to him off and on for about 2 to 2 1/2 years, which is I think the length of time he's been in my market. One of the first times I listened he was interviewing at length somebody talking about the Beslan, Russia terrorism episode(the one in the school) He kept saying over and over that he was doing it not for sensationalistic aspects but because it could, and probably would happen here, and people needed to know, etc. I still picked up a funny sense, though, sort of like when somebody says over and over "trust me", you know you shouldn't trust them, so stopped listening to him for awhile.
