Key difference... the Nazi leadership proudly claimed their role in the atrocities of WWII. They didn't hide their complicity. The discussion was whether or not the lower level operatives could use "they told me to do it" as an excuse. You are correct in that the excuse still doesn't hold water in this situation either. However, these fascists don't even have the guts to admit that it's their policies the low level employees were carrying out. They're hiding behind their employees using them as human shields. That's a whole new level of cowardly scum.
