Having had no health insurance for the past yr, because my husband who has worked in healthcare for over 30 yrs has no job. We have found ways around no insurance.

We see the nurse practioner for our every 6 month BP checkups. We switched to generic drugs 12 bucks for 3 month supply for each of us. We get our blood work, glucose monitoring done at the wellness bus, that comes to our county once a month. The cost for the blood work is actually less than our copay used to be for same service. We got our vaccines including shingles, and DPT booster at the health department this yr. Total cost for preventive care for 2009, $299.00, this is less than we spent on the dog.

Perhaps Obama and crew need to take a look at things...
