So they use our rules of politeness against us. Stop being polite. You don't have to act them, but you can't let them walk all over you, either. The same goes for telemarketers. They call, they start with a cheerful "Hello Mrs Smith. How are you this evening!" It's rude to hang up or ignore them. So either be rude or end up listening to their pitch. Which is engineered to make you say yes so many times you buy something you don't want or need. The other night, someone called and said "I am a Microsoft Certified Technician and we have noticed unusual electrical emissions from your computer." Okay, so he calls, then lies. Right back at ya, buddy. My answer "I don't have a computer." "You... don't... have... a... computer????" Well, he started the lying didn't he? And to be accurate, I don't have A computer, I have two. Anyway, he hung up. So fight fire with fire. Call them names like they call us. They ARE whiners. They ARE losers. They ARE lazy, immature, entitled, gullible ... need I go on? Oops. There's the phone. Tee hee!!!
My husband is a PhD and he is the first to admit that PhD just means that you were able to suck up to the right number of professors to give you a piece of a paper. Think about the people you went to high school who became university professors. Were they the best and brightest? Nope. Just the ones who like the power to lord it over hapless students. A big ego is one of the prerequisites, not necessarily a good imagination, or inquisitive mind. I'd love to see the average SAT scores of University Professors! Not as high as the students they teach, in many cases!
When my car was hit by a black woman, and the policewoman was black, and I'm white, I knew I was screwed. I just accepted the blame and paid the fines. The other lady admitted speeding in the rain without lights on. But somehow, it was my fault.
In the 60s the Republicans gave everyone Civil Rights. The Democrats responded with the Great Society -- paying fathers to leave their families. So how did politicians help create this situation. Then we created a ridiculously high minimum wage for someone wanting to get into the workforce. Particularly someone unskilled, not the top of their class, or without "connections". The blacks, many who had already been on welfare because of political policies, now were unable to get a foot in the door. They learned to stay home and smoke pot. Which, sadly enough, was what this young hoodlum was doing before he robbed the convenience store. A 56 year old son of a friend, white, will be spending the rest of his life in jail. He got drunk and high, decided he was hungry, so even though he had lots of food in the house and had no drivers license, took his brother's car and drove to the grocery store, stealing a sandwich and some beer. The manager asked him to put it back. A scuffle ensued. They got the license plate, found him locked in his basement refusing arrest. He sprayed bear spray at the police out the basement window. There was a standoff with several dozen police before he was finally captured. It is fortunate he wasn't shot. Guns were drawn and had he gone after an officer he would certainly be dead. But he's white. No one would have cared except his mother.

Sadly, true.

It's not about black and white. It's about right and wrong.
Come on. The guy was paid six million dollars by the American people to tell the current government how to lie to them to get what they wanted. He clearly earned his money because it worked. Would you really expect that he would want to talk to the people who paid the price!
What an incredibly well written and well researched article! Thank you!

I gave a "poor" person a ride to school so he could register for classes. He was irate that they would require a photo ID. He had lost his license (for many reasons: speeding, drugs, DUI, etc). But he did have a valid photo ID. He had just left it at the tattoo parlor. Apparently, you need a photo ID to get a tattoo.
