France’s Fiscal Suicide

The French part of Canada is moving towards implementing Hollande's social agenda. I predict a massive fall only softened by the fact that the Rest of Canada pays it $8bn a year in "Equalization" payments to stay afloat.

Public Unions are Public Enemy No. 1

Public sector unions are perfectly capable of turning on Liberals too. All they have to do is ask the unions to share in the grief we are all experiencing for them to suddenly decide that they can't support their old Liberal friends anymore. Here in Ontario, the Liberal government lost a byelection to fill a vacant seat in the legislature because the unions campaigned heavily against them and handed the seat to the even further left New Democrats. They're still running TV ads slamming the government because it imposed a wage freeze to help deal with the massive deficit the province is in. This of course is after 9 years of wage increases under this government so they'd still be making more than they were before the Liberals got in.

Should Black People Tolerate This?

KRS One said many years ago, after his long time friend Scott LaRoque was shot that we're heading for "self destruction" and black on black crime needed to stop. Several decades later, the Stop The Violence Coalition's no more, and the violence still exists in our communities.
We're asking the same question here in Canada. The Conservative government wants to reduce the employment insurance benefits for those who're not looking for work. Of course the liberal and socialist opposition are up in arms about the changes, but with a strong majority, they're gonna go through anyway. Anybody wanna move up north?
