The only things I ever supported Obama for in 2008 was to get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan and closing Gitmo. He didn't pull us out of Iraq or Afghanistan any earlier than what Bush had already created an agreement to do. Gitmo is still open and running, plus has turned into an island resort. On top of all that, he not only doubled-down on Bush's worst policies in the Patriot Act, he signed the NDAA into law. He promised to make the government more transparent and allow Americans to comment on bills before signing them into law. More lies.... sigh...

Stockholm syndrome is a psychological phenomenon where hostages develop and express empathy and positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them.

Such feelings are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, who mistake a lack of abuse for an act of kindness. Electoral Stockholm Syndrome is apparently alive and well in America. How else to explain Barack Obama’s victory in the very states most hurt by his policies the last four years?
