A very, very accurate article. I was in the mortgage business when we heard a rumor that Fannie Mae was getting into the sub prime business and very few could believe it. Previously 80% was the max LTV with a possibility of a 80/10 if you had almost perfect credit. All of a sudden we were seeing 90 and 100% firsts with low credit scores and no ratio loans for w-2 employees. If they hadn't changed the CRA none of this would have happened including the recession! How many know of the class action lawsuit B/A settled last year? Because of the sudden surge in applications they could not underwrite a business loan within 5 business days ( little known law) and settled for millions! Outrageous!!

A well written easily understood article. I thought all the states already had CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCIES..This gov't just wants to intrude as much as possible.
