Where Have All the Liberals Gone?

Good analogy of adults and children. Yes, the children need removed from the room. I just got done reading Ann Coulter's new book, DEMONIC. It's an apt description of what John is talking about in the artile. Liberals haven't come up with a solution because they no longer think solutions up. They play to the emotions and they are the mob of reactionaries--whether pseudo-intellectual or overtly violent. From a historical perspective, they fall into the trend of trying to achieve the Hegelian dialectic, and grow tired of the solution/synthesis just as they reach. So, you have Jeremiah Right saying, "Damn America." Yet, instead of providing a reasonable solution to inner-city issues, he and others practice demogoguery.
I agree. As Gene Edward Veith demonstrates in his book, HONKY TONK GOSPEL, there are two strains of country music--one which is mentioned in the article to which we all are responding and another which reflects the self-centered romanticism found in much of the pop and Hollywood words. There has always been a strong patriotic flavor to the "blood songs" in country music. It's the same strand that see the human condition for what it is--flawed and sinful. It's a humble recognition of our earthy circumstances. Toby Keith's songs, "American soldier" and "The Angry American"--while different in their tune and tenor, express the true emotions of patriotism we all feel. In addition, many of these country stars do not forget their humble roots.
You ask why we tolerate this? Well, so we can endure till November, 2012 and make Barrack Obama and his socialism a one-term President. God be with us in our endurance till then.
