The defense bill is an overly complicated bill, typical of congress and one that supports the need for line item vetos. That said, Obama would still veto the Joint Strike Fighter and the two engine principle because it emulates private sector thinking, i.e., competitive free-market thinking. God forbid this government ever act like that.

Amazing how Bush's Tax cuts are always connected to the statement that they 'favor the wealthy.' Last time I (as in I R S) checked, the top 1% paid 39.89% of federal taxes the top 5% paid 60.14% of federal taxes the top 50% paid 97.01% of federal taxes 47% PAID NOTHING (A source for doubters to check: http://bit.ly/ae86Eo ) Now ask yourself why tax cuts shouldn't favor the rich. When lead was discovered to be harmful to our bodies, we did two things: We educated people on this danger and we passed laws prohibiting the manufacture of products containing lead. The latter only worked for domestic products, as we continued importing products containing lead (although this is diminishing). But it is the former tact that worked the best. Educate. Mr. Williams, You are dead on about our contributions to SS (even though I will never see a dime back - I've done the math) and that I pay it all, but your title of SOMETHING FOR NOTHING is unfortunately wrong. When it comes to contributing to our country, close to half (47%) of Americans pay NOTHING when it comes to federal taxes (fact check - http://yhoo.it/dBESEf). I could list 6 or 7 other (liberal) prime time journalists that choose their agenda over a news story that has been rightly investigated and unbiased in nature, but their names are slipping from my memory. I haven't watched a Williams broadcast in so long, he no longer pains me. And that is how we neuter these guys. Stop watching. Stop talking about them. Stop quoting them.
