Yes, but with that person wearing a bullet proof vest, the question must be what caliber a person should be carrying. Which calibers would have just caused him pain, and which ones would have enough energy to knock him down. At least there is a possibility with the smaller calibers, but a 1911 clone in .45 ACP could put him down, even if not out.

you can buy fairly compact .45ACP guns. Kimber or Kel-Tec come to mind.

of course,if you want real power,get a 10mm. (not the .40SW.)

even with body armor, ( did he have a chest plate?), any hits WILL HURT. if one round hit the ARM or the LEG the shooter looses that arm or leg as in use of the limb. he could not stand which stops him shooting long eneough for people to get out. hit hiom in the amr and he cant aim and shoot but with the other hand and the shotgun and ar-15 would be difficult to do so while writhing in pain
I would venture to guess that the folks filing in to see the latest Batman installment in Aurora, Colorado last Thursday evening didn’t figure on over 70 of them getting shot before the credits rolled. The last count I received before filing this column was 12 dead and 59 wounded.
