Sounds like "cottonpickinfingers" = Sybil. The answer is "No". Democrats started the government takeover of healthcare when they created Medicare in 1965. Bush-Republicans added to it with Medicare Prescription part D, because that was the way the field was tilted at the time. Still a bad idea. Democrats have now done a big addition to that government takeover of healthcare, = Obamacare. Not much out there that hasn't been taken-over.

Good point-and Bush also established Medicare Part C-essentially a voucher system where private insurers pick up the responsibility for paying Medicare for the year. A program that actually works-no wonder Obama cut funding for it. Can't have a Republican plan actually work-that would be unpatriotic.

What Ransom, pretty much alone, seems to have missed is that the Democrats don't have to vote for a tax hike bill. The Republicans voted for one 12 years ago (extended by a compromise for two years) and it will go into effect in January. The Democrats only plan on passing...
