A truly conservative President would have asked for the country to sacrifice for the troops. Not go shopping.

Thank God Bush's plan didn't go through. If SS had been privatized, people's money would have evaporated in 2008!

Mr. Medved, Did you read the judge's decision? It carefully responded to each of your points and with legal precedents. Your reasoning is on a par with the defense put forward by the Prop 8 proponents - it's wrong, it's not the way we've done things before, God wouldn't like it. Civilization does evolve. That's why we banned slavery and male only voting to name two examples. Why? Because it wasn't right. And discriminating against people because of who they are is not right, either. That's why you see so much commotion on this issue. To quote Victor Hugo: "Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come."

Blah, blah. Obama will still be President. Same as before. Despite all the anger from progressives against Bush, he still controlled the government. And with an iron fist. Just get used to at least 3 years and 4 months of Obama and likely make that 7 years and 4 months. Calm down. You'll live longer!

The current system may work for you so long as you're reasonably healthy. However, others have found their insurance denied them coverage due to obscure pre-existing conditions, and other fine print tactics. Private insurance is in business to make a profit first. The abuses that have occurred are part of the reason so many people are fed up and wanting this change. You may think it can't happen to you. Hope it doesn't. http://www.ehow.com/how_4499072_prevent-health-insurance-d enial.html

Yes, the plan may pass. At least I hope so. But that's the prerogative of the party in power. I don't believe that it will be the end of our way of life though. And anyway, 2010 comes soon. If enough people are upset, more Republicans will be elected.

Hey guys/gals. Liberalish type here. I agree with Hill. If Obamacare doesn't work, there's always 2010 and 2012. This is still a democracy.
In '06 and '08, the GOP took a whuppin' to quote W's assessment. And with good reason. Deal with it.
Now if Obama and his party can't deliver, they'll get their comeuppance, too.
