The culture may have served you well, but it has not served EVERYONE well. That's the whole point -- to allow equal access to the financial and other benefits of marraige to ALL citizens. I know a gay couple that has been together for 45 years, but the one who was not the breadwinner could not claim a Social Security survivors benefit on the breadwinner's earnings if he dies, as any wife could. They still have to pay for individual health insurance policies rather than a family policy. They can't even get the family membership at the gym or avoid the second-driver charge when they rent a car -- hundreds of little things that husbands and wives take for granted. Those are the issues -- not what they want to CALL their partnership.
In the wake of the U.S. elections, the onslaught of war in the Middle East, and the seemingly endless attacks on the family both here and abroad, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. And if we’re not careful, it’s then easy to adopt of posture of indifference and give up the fight.

Yet in the darkest hour, or what appears to be the darkest hour, it’s remarkable how God sends a reminder that all is not lost, that evil will not triumph, and that the family is still revered.
