Now, let me get this straight. People who profess to be Christians but do evil things are not REAL Christians. What a convenient way to blame everything evil that happens in the world on non-Christians. You can blame all the bad stuff on Islam, on atheists, on Jews -- but REAL Christians don't do bad things. They can take credit for all the good stuff. Is that about it?

Wish I could be of help here David, but my Mayan calander ran out on December 23, 2012, and I'm stuck here in Arizona waiting for the water to rise in the women's bathroom. Damn Ark is never on time.

I'm reading the NYT's, and wishing the boys in the tin foil hats would get here. I'm soooo in need of a ride nails look just awful, and my manicurist won't be happy if I'm late again. SIGH.. I have an engagement with the big boy in the sky and want to look my very best.

What prompted Susan Jacoby to write her piece was a colleague telling her that atheism "has nothing to offer when people are suffering."

She wrote the piece, "The Blessings of Atheism" ("It is Here and It is Now!" screams the subhead) to prove her colleague wrong by offering a consoling atheist alternative to religion's consoling belief in an afterlife. Atheists cannot believe that there is any...
