Marriage Equality to Triumph in 4 States

Doesn't it strike you that the arguments against gay marriage have little to do with marriage? The comments are not anti-marriage; they are anti-gay. Even the National Assiciation for Marriage doesn't really exist just to protect marriage, It opposes ANYTHING that is adavantageous to gays. In 2009 in Rhode Island, NOM even tried to obstruct the burial of a gay man. His partner had tried for 5 weeks to have the body turned over to him by the state. He had a legal will and power of attorney, but it took an act of the legislature to resolve it. NOM sent the most insulting letter to legislators, saying it was “an exploitation of...the tragedy" by gay-marriage activists. No activists were involved, and it had NOTHING to do with marriage.

With almost all polls closed, it looks like same-sex marriage bills in Maryland, Maine and Washington have all passed to allow same-sex marriage. In most of these states this was an easy win. In Minnesota, the vote was a vote to ban same-sex marriage. It looks like most likely the ban will not pass, but it is still very close.

This is a huge victory for marriage-equality groups and many people have taken to twitter to show their support. After Politico announce the win in Maryland, many celebrities and marriage equality supporters showed their approval.

Traditional marriage supporters...
