I remember when California voted for $3 billion a year for cloning research. I was shocked, and thought at the time they were stupid and would bankrupt themselves. I had similar thoughts hearing about their multi-billion dollar light rail system. They deserve what they get, but I hope they don't take the rest of the nation down with them. BTW, it was Benjamin Franklin who said, “When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” -- not Thomas Jefferson.

I wonder how many businesses exist where the majority of workers never voted to become a union. Most people who are hired at a union shop are forced to join the union, and I bet this applies to the majority of current workers. The workers who initially voted to form the union are long gone. Unions should be forced to have a secret ballot every 4 or 5 years to either reaffirm or disband the union. It is simply not fair to force the majority of workers into a union if they don't want a union.

Aaron Walker was just arrested because his blog resulted in death threats against Brett Kimberlin (no proof of threats was provided). The judge is holding Aaron Walker responsible because a 'peace order' was in affect against Walker from harming Kimberlin. Essentially, the judge ruled that Walker's blog postings were responsible for provoking others to harm Kimberlin, so Walker is responsible. I'm with Byron York on this one. It seems to me that the purpose of the "natural born citizen" clause was to differentiate them from U.S. citizens who were not born U.S. citizens but were naturalized. Both Obama and Rubio were born as U.S. citizens (unless SCOTUS says differently). With that said, I do believe Pres. Obama's birth certificate, SSN, and Selective Service Registration all look hokey. So I guess I am a semi-birther.
