The Diversity Fetish

Diversity is code for discrimination. Whoa to those who disagree, for the tolerant are intolerant of different view points. Believing in affirmative action is racial profiling, yet, like in he Fisher case, when devoid of facts, it is ok, and when a police officer uses data to make decisions, it is wrong. The diversicrats are tolerant as long as you agree and for racial profiling when it involves discriminating against whites.

When my highly qualified daughter applied for an available position at the Smithsonian Institution, she was told "only Asians and blacks were being hired."

Ann 272, I hear you but want to ask you, did you ask why, and make them explain to your daughter and your family the reasons why she was not hired? I am on your side with this and hope that your daughter finds a position that allows her to continue achieving as you know she can. My best to you, as you know this probably happens more than we are aware of and needs to stop. IMO

There is an uplifting American feel about a university, a workplace or a neighborhood brimming with people of different races. It is the product of a nation assembled of people from everywhere else. From many places, one people.

Other nations have diversity of a sort, but no one can go to France and become French. I cannot go to Brazil and become Brazilian. The diversity of America, an assemblage of skin colors painted with a wide swath of history from immigration to slavery, has become a uniquely beautiful concept.

Leave it to government to screw it up.
