The same argument was used to justify bans on interracial marriages, 60 years ago. There was no discrimination because everyone had the same right to marry someone of the same race. The right to marry is not theoretical. The Supreme Court has stated numerous times that marriage is a fundamental right of mankind. By the way, why would you want gay men to marry straight women? How does that fake marriage help society in any way? Isn't it better and more logical to let straight people marry straight people, and gay people marry gay people? Your ideology creates a lot of loveless sham marriages. Why would anyone support that?
That's simply a flat-out lie. Which ultra-conservative blog did you read that B.S.? Devaluing the real thing? I think Newt, Rush, Donald and Rudy can take credit for that... or do you think 13 marriages between them is good for our society and marriage in general? Yeah, and the "real thing" has a 50% failure rate. But it's the "gays" that are the real threat to marriage, right? Such utter hypocrisy.
You do not have the right to not be offended. People choose to be religious, and they choose to believe that gay people are immoral. That doesn't make it factual. Religion is entirely faith based. Your "choice" does not allow you to impose your "chosen" religious tenets on our secular society. If I'm personally "offended" by a 70 year old man getting married to a 20 year old woman, it doesn't mean that I have the right to discriminate against them. If I were some ignorant hick from North Carolina, and I thought that interracial marriage was immoral, that doesn't give me the right to refuse them service. You want to live in a theocracy where religious beliefs are law, move to Saudi Arabia.
Wait a second, are you actually trying to blame the poor "private" behavior of straight people on gays? You talk about "producing children infected with STDs". Just a reminder: straight couples are the only ones that are producing children. Here's an idea: How about taking responsibility for your own actions? Gay people are not responsible for the choices that straight couples make. Regardless of the person's sexual orientation, if they aren't responsible when having sex, STDs are a likely result of that decision if both partners aren't monogamous. That's just common sense.
Dan and Terry don't represent every gay person in America. If they want to have an open-relationship (just like millions of straight couples do), that's their personal private choice. Considering that a huge percentage of straight couples cheat on each other, and that the divorce rate continues to hover around 50%, I'd hardly call straight relationships the gold standard, would you? I didn't realize that straight couples had to pass a "fidelity and morality test" before they got married. Oh, that's right. They don't. Just ask Newt Gingrich, the king of adultery. If he gets married for a 4th time, his 5th marriage will be free!
"The median age of death of homosexuals is 42..." --- This has been refuted so many times, I'm not sure why you bother posting such nonsense. Suffice to say, ANYTHING that came from Paul Cameron is 100% false: http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-report/browse-all-issues/2005/winter/the-fabulist
Using statistics from 30 years ago to make your point, isn't helping your credibility. It doesn't matter what 500 gay men living in the Castro did 30 years ago. They don't represent the millions of gay Americans in our country today. Perhaps I should use the statistics of heterosexuals that have one-night stands in Las Vegas as a basis to describe ALL straight people in America. That would be appropriate, right?
Since sexual orientation is immutable, your "simple behavior change" comment is laughable; and since HIV and AIDS are manageable with current medications (unlike 20 or 30 years ago), the 20 year shorter lifespan is not applicable anymore. Gay bowel syndrome doesn't even exist. So your credibility is highly lacking. Our society also doesn't restrict civil rights based on health issues. Those that are obese, or have heart disease or cancer, or any other illnesses, all have their civil rights.

...and why are you even bringing up Carrie Prejean? She's entitled to her ignorant opinion, just like anyone else. "Gee... I don't have an actual opinion, because my parents indoctrinated me into religion when I was a child, and I didn't have a choice whether or not to go to church. So now I can't think for myself. My parents and my church do my thinking for me. So I'll just spew some inane biblical reason why it's okay to discriminate against gay people." -- I'm paraphrasing. But that's basically what she said. Yes... she's truly an American hero. (rolls eyes)
