I think that the key to saving this country's communities and environment is going to be through small and local businesses, who often cannot afford health care for themselves and their families, including my family. My mother was able to have a necessary operation last year ONLY because of subsidized healthcare.

It's not exactly like there is a village doctor in most places who's willing or able to help anybody without insurance (unless they want inescapable medical debt.) I'm only 23 and I already have medical debt from when I worked for a grocery store who's benefits didn't cover an ER visit, so I can attest.

And what about farmers? Doesn't anybody care about them anymore?
