If you trained on the M-14, you must have been in a LONG time ago! We had gone exclusively to the M-16 by the time I came aboard in 1973.

We had M14's in ROTC in the mid-70's and they were much better weapons than th M16's we got to replace them. We even had selector switches to make them full auto.

Trained with the M14 in the Navy for Ship's self defense force in 1985. That .308 can really drive tacks. Though I usually was issued some beat up mossberg.
Biden, he and Colorado State Senator Jessie Ulibarri (D) should get together and blow whisltles in each other's ears for a day or two.

I trained on the M-14 and shot expert in Boot Camp (Summer of 1968). I carried an M-16 in Vietnam (1970). The M-14 is the superior weapon in my opinion.
