FRC and the like should not be silenced (and certainly not shot) but they should be countered with facts. One who believes some of what they (and many of the frequent commenters here) do about gay men especially they are being hateful. Lying about someone is hateful. There is much that needs addressing in the LGBT communities for sure, and I get in trouble on other sites for saying so, but it is wrong to sit silent while cretins attack and falsely claim their religion allows them to.

Within hours of the shooting of the security guard at the Family Research Council last Wednesday, more than 20 gay organizations issued a joint statement that they “utterly reject and condemn such violence.” This is highly commendable. Unfortunately, they did not utterly reject, condemn, or even acknowledge their potential role in helping to create the toxic environment that may have contributed to the shooting. Consider how shrill gay activist rhetoric has become.
