Good points. Let qualified teachers and administrators have guns to protect their schools. Too much big brother in this country already, I don't want metal detectors at schools. We can't protect us from all violent crimes by putting people through machines to get into a school or any public building. People need guns to protect themselves and more gun laws put more guns out of the hands of responsible citizens, and more into criminals. I don't own a gun, and probably never will, but I feel safer knowing that people have guns rather then just criminals and the police.

On Friday, in his moving and heartfelt statement in response to the horrific shooting in Newtown, Conn., President Obama said, "As a country, we have been through this too many times. ... And we're going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics."
