Obma can't learn the right lesson. He is afflicted with what Thomas Aquinas referred to as "invincible ignorance". There is no quantum of evidence that would lead Obama to change his piolicies

Why Obama Will Lose in a Landslide

The conclusion that Romney will win in a landslide is the only possible rational explanation for Root's announcement that he will waste his vote on a Libertarian candidate. Anyone who seriously cannot find a significant difference between Obama and Romney is so far out in right field that he's in Sheffield Avenue (outside Wrigley). It makes suspect what otherwise appeasrs to be an excellent analysis.

Obama Illinois Re-election Strategy

This article over-analyzes the subject of Obama's Illinois election strategy. Two words: steal it. If you control the vote count, you win. And in the People's Republic of Madiganistan, the Democrats DO control the vote count.
The headline is redundant.
They can't conduct their own trials, but what do you think the reaction of the police would be if asked to meet with Joe, the AD, a vice-pres. and a credible ewitness to the assault? Do you think they might seriously investigate?
I was a long time fan of Joe's. If Joe Paterno were a run-of-the-mill football coach at Generic U., perhaps passing the report up the food chain to someone with more authority would be expected. But he wasn't; he was Joe Paterno and he failed to recognize that fact. At the time, he probably had more influence than the AD he "reported to". He had the capacity to effectively get anyone at the University removed. His failure to act aggressively had implicaitons for others at Penn State. If "saintly" Joe didn't see a reason to report anything, anyone who did report it potentially risked incurring his displeasure The institutional failure to report thus involved cowardice as well as banality.

Listening to a Liar: Part II

Obama's speech to Congress completes his triumph over both the Clintons. He defeated Hillary last year for the Democratic nomination. Now he has bested Bill, known as a world-class liar. Not even Bill could have told the whoppers Obanma did about healthcare legislation. Comparable chutzpah would have been for Bill to say, "I'm gonna say this one time: that's not my stain on that dress." Obama wins the liar competition hands down.

Climate Skeptics Need Mental Help?

Question: if the skeptics are really afraid to confront the "truth" about global warmingm, why is it that Al Gore has NEVER been willing to debate the issue with anyone.

Uncertain Trumpet

In 2004, John Kerry (I can't believe I'm quoting him) asked how you ask a man to die for a mistake. When Obama starts hedging his bet and making the commitment tentative, he's turning this war into a mistake. My son is considering military service. I will urge him in the most strenuous manner possible not to join any branch that might put him in Afghanistan, not because the danger of death is greater there, but because his death there would be for naught because his commander-in-chief lacks the determination to reach any kind of result that would give any meaning to his death.
Barack Obama is turning Afghanistan into Vietnam

Don't Call Them Progressives

It will only be a few years before everybody wises up that "progressives" are only liberals under another name. Then they'll come up with another name to disguise who they really are. "Progressive" will become the "P" word just like "liberal" has become the "l" word.
