Since when is "fear of People of color" irrational. Had I not been attacked and beaten by a group of them, it might be ocnsidered irrational. Had my brother not been attacked and beaten by them, it might be irrational. Had my wife not been a victim of attempted raope, it might be irrational. Had my brother's wife not been raped by several of them as a teenager, it might be irrational. Had we not been threatened our entire life by them it might be irrational. When are "people of color" going to grow up and admit they have a problem, and ostracize those who act as they do? Instead, they have the "warn-a-brother" concept of protecting one another from recrimination. I have many good, honorable colored friends who don't behave so.

As a young boy I was badly beaten by groups of blacks. Feel good liberals built projects near my neighborhood in the early 70's and the worst elements of the community moved in. After a few episodes of getting beaten to a pulp while the savages laughed it up and taught the younger savages how to beat a defenseless kid I smartened up. Actually I just got mean and ruthless. There's nothing like hitting a bully in the face with a baseball bat breaking teeth, nose, jaw, basically disfiguring the bully for life. It's even better when they don't see it coming. It really evens the score to hear your torturer scream in pain and beg you to stop.

Painful and life changing experiences that are passed on to others, but are anecdotes, which, statistically, prove nothing. The greatest amount of crime is black on black. So much for 'bro'.
Still, that community blames the other race for their criminality.
I do recall the advice of a person, defending themselves, justly, against a criminal. The advice was to mark their face, with you boot, if you could, and break a jaw, as that would be very hard to forget, and the criminal would be reminded, whenever they looked in the mirror.
They would be reminded of a very very bad choice.
Still they might not get it.

Years later the guy that I busted up with the bat died in a stolen car he'd driven into a telephone pole. He never learned. Most of my enemies from those days died young one way or another.
My youth was basically destroyed. I went from being a daydreamer that spent days with his nose buried in books, to an angry young man with a chip on his shoulder who'd learned to escalate the level of violence to a place where his tormentors wouldn't want to go. Through God's grace I now approach the day from a place of peace, compassion, and forgiveness.

I did that to a number of bullies only with my bare hands. Nothing breaks a bully of the bullying like choking them until they pass out. Nearly broke another one's arm.

As a gentle kid I had to be taught to fight. It wasn't natural for me it was a learned skill. I had to learn to fight on my own terms, on my own time. I also had to learn to isolate my tormentors, who usually travelled in groups. I achieved this by learning to stash weapons around my neighborhood and capitalizing on any opportunity that presented itself. I also learned that nothing put fear into these animals more than seeing one of their pals get out of the hospital after a couple weeks looking like a mummy and eating through a straw for a month. I've broken more bones than Evel Kneivel. There's always a price to be paid. Violence of this type extracts a heavy toll on your soul.

darkcyder...Pay no attention to the b.s. Naive Progs can yammer on all they want to about gun rights & irrational fears of those who a firmer grip on reality than they do. My naive brother lives in S.E. D.C. & won't have a gun in the house cause he's a delirious Joker supporter & Prog. Yet stats show that a D.C. resident is 25 times more likely to be shot than a military man in Iraq.

He is white and chose that neighborhood?!?

I never travel without a loaded gun. I usually carry a Smith and Wesson Model 640 in a bucket in the trunk of my car. Sometimes I carry a Glock Model 23 instead. I was really happy I was carrying the former when I arrived at my hotel room in Amarillo last week shortly after midnight. As I was unpacking my trunk, a man came walking across the parking lot from an adjacent hotel. His largely incoherent introduction began something like this:

“Hey, I’m a big scary black man and I need some help. Won’t nobody help me ‘cause I’m a...
