Beware Warrior Cops

Since when have the protectors become more valuable than the protected? Have you noticed the 'King" like funerals of fallen officers ? Innocent civilians who are machine-gunned down in the streets barely get mentioned in the news but the police? A funeral better than a King of England with hundreds of 'brothers' attending from all over the world. Obviously a respectful funeral is only right...but...it is as if we civilians are chopped liver...the police are paid to protect us...so..how come we are treated as a 1 and they are a 10 ?? Something has gone off-keel here...when the message " 3 people shot" over the police radio, has no where near the response of "officer down". I can understand extra effort of the cops going after a cop killer...it's only human...but...it is way out of kilter....double the effort is understandable...but 100 times the effort ?? Again, are we chopped liver ??

No, we are not 'chopped liver', but we aren't the ones putting our lives on the line in a daily quest to protect society from the monsters hiding in our midst. My son-in-law is a police officer in a small east Texas town.........even in this little podunk town he is regularly assaulted; he has been hit, stabbed, shot at, & almost run down with a car.....he is cursed, screamed at, lied to and spat upon regularly........He and the rest of his department are the only thing standing between the meth-heads, crack heads, thieves, and other criminals and the honest, upright, law-abiding citizens and he does this for around $19/hr.
The reason an "officer down" call gets priority are pretty clear- If some idiot is stupid or desperate enough to take out an officer, which in most states is a capital offense, how much thought do you think the criminal would put into killing you if you happened to be in his way?
And with all this you begrudge a big funeral to send off a fallen officer?

How about giving the glory again to God for a change? Not a peep about God or maybe a few mumbled words from the chaplain at such events, gotta keep it mute because ohhhhhh we can't "establish religion" any more... well God never got dethroned by the way demonically swayed courts perverted the 1st Amendment which was originally intended not to keep the gospel out of atheists' ears but to prevent the US government from itself becoming a denomination a la the Church of England.

God's the king. We're only servants. This pervasive every man for himself attitude is taking its spiritual toll BOTH on cops and non-cops. It leaves them wide open for Hell itself to yank them around and it SHOWS.

dmoel...you have twisted my words and meaning to suit your personal attachment to the topic....there are still damn good cops out there and I know it. Any fallen officer should get a big funeral....but not one to match JFK's.....perhaps in Texas things are normal...but...in the NW....a fallen cop is greater than the Son of God.....and that is just wrong.

You GOT IT!

Greater than the Son of God!

Read Psalm 2. God says that such attitude makes people into heaven's laughing stocks. We are literally becoming a SICK JOKE to God and God says hey folks, this never had to be... and it can still stop....
