Your chauvinistic statements about Catholics is moronic and your question even more idiotic. But here is a rebuttal and answer: Preamble: I was raised Catholic. Being Catholic is no better or worse than being a member of any other faith, save for devil worship. Catholics have done much for the country, but not more than anyone from any another faith en masse. Of course, primarily only Catholic priest have repeatedly abused children, while the church hierarchy repeatedly broke state and federal laws hiding the culprits. This is collective Catholic moral turpitude at its worst. There are good gays and bad gays, just like good homophobes (presumably like yourself) and bad ones.

Bill, you are correct, they will not be ordained since it is considered a HUGE temptation for them and the church is in the business of SAVING souls, not putting them in the way of terrible temptation.
the 60s and 70s, the Catholic church went the same way as EVERYBODY else, softening their standards and viewing sexual liberation theology as just a sign of the times not as any threat...EXCEPT that Paul VI nailed it in the Humane Vitae, predicting completely the future 60s year spiral.

And the kicker is that 15 years ago all these homophobes were all on board with civil unions and a disproportionate amount of gays got along with them great. Overnight they discovered, when they attempted to invade churches (though most would insist that wasn't the goal and only now are beginning to see the persecution), that all their friends where homophobic!!
So friendly support for civil unions and lack of support for sacred marriage automatically means bigotry.
With that kind of illogic you get...the government and irrational citizenry we have.

way to undermine ANY validity by making a chauvinistic bigoted assumption.

YOu were likely either NOT raised Catholic or you were indoctrinated out of it by the Catholic bashing that has gone on even in Catholic churches over these last 60 years. What you just spewed out is the epitome of hte secular c r a p that you could hear from a person indoctrinated by the Soviet Union or by Mao or by any number of secular dictators.
The last time a Catholic was taught Catholicism BY a traditional Catholic in our secularized world, PRIOR to John Paul II's re-emergence, was right around the time of Archbishop Sheen, who even then bemoaned the poor c a t e c h e s is by Catholics.

What is a 'homphobe'? Sounds like a deluded term.

You were raised Catholic? Did you attend CCD? Receive the Sacraments?

Kepp in mind that anti Catholic bigotry from homosexuals, atheists, liberals, ect is still common in the US as shown by many comments.

The big Catholic mistake with the homosexual Priests was not being more selective who becaem Priests. As far as I know any man declaring himself to be a homosexual will not be ordained.

I've never encountered one person whose negative attitude toward homosexuality had anything to do with a "phobia."

"Homophobe" is a fictitious concept, as is "sexual orientation." Both are politically correct labels that seriously mis-describe what they're applied to.
In two cases last week, lawyers urged the Supreme Court to respect the democratic process by upholding bans on legal recognition of gay marriages. But only one of those bans can plausibly be portrayed as representing the will of the people.

Proposition 8, the 2008 ballot initiative that overturned a California Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage, reflected popular opposition to what was perceived as arrogant meddling by unelected judges. Although the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was driven by a similar populist impulse, in practice it frustrates the will of the people in states where voters or their elected...
