In the non-economic arena, on Sunday, January 13, 2013 nearly one-million Frenchmen, under the banner "La Manif Pour Tous" (The March for All) held a peaceful demonstration in Paris in opposition to Hollande's effort to establish "gay marriage" in France. How odd that this should happen in France, land of sexual libertines, but there it was, and our conservative press, with its knee-jerk hostility to anything French, has ignored it. Could something like this have happened here in the U.S., where even our conservatives have made their peace with "gay marriage?" La Manif Pour Tous has a Facebook page, and the GalliaWatch blog (written in English by an American woman) has commented extensively on the event.
