Marriage is not just another contract. It is one that the state gives special recognition to, and the parameters of which are defined by the state. If you want to agree to a contract just between two people, same sex couples are not constrained in any way that any other couple of group is. What you DO NOT have the right to do is redefine what marriage is to suit your own narrow interest, and then DEMAND that the state and all it's citizens recognize it.

I am a Catholic too, but just because you are not a properly ordained minister, it doesn't mean you cannot advocate for Christ. I mean you (dreadnaught/13) advocate for the gospel, but I haven't seen YOU claim to be a priest.

I think that if we all followed the hedonist mantra "If it feels good, do it" we would all be addicted to heroin. Whether something "Feels Good" doesn't really tell you anything about it's value, except in a very short sighted selfish sense.

As far as I am concerned. The breakdown of marriage, and the push for "same-sex" marriage both have the same roots. The progressive left has been pushing moral relativism for years. Once you have infected society with the idea that there are NO absolute standards of right & wrong, morality MUST fall by the way-side. Much of this began with the wide-spread availability and acceptance of effective contraceptives. In many people's minds Sex no longer had anything to do with marriage or reproduction, it was only a way to have fun, or to express "love". Once that split was made, it made no real sense to ban ANY sexual activity.
