I carry a handgun for the same reason I have fire extinguishers in my home and vehicle. There is the remote possibility that I might be accosted by some psychopathic killer, deranged drug addict, mob of racist thugs, mugger, or muslim religious fanatic here in these United States. I realize the possibility is about as remote as being struck by lightning, but ask any who happened to survive such attacks that have occurred in the last 20 years if they wished they had been armed when they were attacked. Its better to have and not need than to need and not have.
