Works are proof that faith is present, but the works alone are not sufficient. Hitler may have been kind to some people and helped them. Certainly his Arayan "buddies". But those good works had nothing to do with faith. On the other hand, faith without works can't be determined because, well, there's nothing to go by. The works of the faith must be seen to know the faith is there. However, we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ alone. That is, we are already saved. The proof of it is our works, but the works mean nothing in and of themselves.
