Having armed teachers (and other school employees)is like having plainclothes police scattered all around the school,at no cost. it's the smart thing to do.

allowing armed school employees who have carry permits costs nothing,and puts armed GOOD people right where they would be needed all the time the school is open,close to the children that need protecting.
It's a PROVEN-to-work method.(Israel does it,and it works there,against real terrorists.)

Any armed school person would have to have a concealed carry permit,and permit holders have proven themselves to be safe and law-abiding,in EVERY US state that issues the permits.There's no reason or evidence to believe that permit holders would act any different on school grounds than they do in other public places. There's no evidence that a permittee would shoot an innocent,that just has not happened (by a permit holder) in real life,after decades of CC and thousands of defensive gun uses.

In US v Miller,SCOTUS asked if a short-barreled shotgun was a weapon that a militia would commonly use,implying that arms protected by the 2nd Amendment had to be arms a militia would use. AR-15's,M-16's and AK-47s would be ordinary militia arms,and "hi-capacity magazines" also would be protected.

the Second Amendment is NOT about hunting and sporting.it's about the people retaining the ability to "alter or to abolish" a government gone bad,as written in the Declaration of Independence.

semi-auto,magazine-fed rifles such as the AR-15 and AK-47 are today's modern MILITIA weapons,and thus should be the most protected of firearms under the Second Amendment.

Militiamen were expected to appear for muster bearing arms and ammo similar to and compatible with what the Regular military had in use AT THAT TIME.
Since we "compromised" and restricted ownership of full-auto,true assault rifles,that leaves the semi-auto versions for civilian militia use.

1. Any gun holding multiple rounds can be "rapid-fired", so, in your ignorance, you say no one should have one. That'd narrow me down to my single shot Stevens .22 rifle.
2. Read up on the violent crime rates in Florida and find out what's happened to them since we have gotten more CCW's that any other state. To help you out, the numbers of such crimes have diminshed rapidly. The police (read government here) want to claim they've improved their procedures. Liberal bs.

Lanza shot deadly 27 people. He must have had weapons able to fire fast lots of rounds. Large magazines and/or mods to those weapons.
Ann is going in this text for more concealed-carry. Many here on TH are for concealed-carry to be law in ALL the schools. That's wrong. Imagine how many 'unfortunate accidents' may happen: spouses/teenagers of teachers getting those guns and going berserk like this guy.

Do you not understand that it is the PERSON and not the weapon that committed the EVIL? He was the AGENT of EVIL; the weapon was merely the means. NO LAW would have prevented that. He broke at least 7 laws before ever getting to the school.

Rapid fire would be a revolver...pull the trigger as fast as possible is 'rapid fire? Are you thinking he had automatic weapons? HE DID NOT! He did have the civilian AR-15, named the Bushmaster by the manufacturer. It is SEMI-Automatic. One trigger pull, one round. ALSO...NONE of Mrs. Lanza's weapons have ANYTHING to do with 'concealed carry. They were in her home. SHE is as culpable as he; she did NOTHING to rein in the years of bizarre and semi-violent behavior that SHOULD have been a 'red flag' to her that something was Terribly Wrong!
