Human nature as hard-wired into our DNA will continue it's domination of human thinking as much as gravity continues it's domination of falling. Which means I don't have a lot of confidence that humans can make the changes needed for them to live together cooperatively. Darwin will rule in the selection process.

In what PLANET do you live? Can't you see the wonderful networks of trades, exchanges and production around you? All the capital goods created? Do you think those were just conjured up by a superbeing or something?

COMMERCE (get this into your small head) IS COOPERATION. TRADE *IS* COOPERATION. FREE MARKETS ARE COOPERATION IN MOTION.

Democrats won big last week. So government will continue to grow. Individual freedom will yield.

At least some people with records of supporting liberty were elected: Sen. Jeff Flake in Arizona and U.S. Reps. Justin Amash and Kerry Bentivolio in Michigan and Thomas Massie in Kentucky.

Also, Washington and Colorado voted to allow any adult to use marijuana. (But users beware. Your newfound freedom may be short-lived thanks to that extraordinary human being in the White House -- you know, the one who smoked pot when he was in school. Despite promising that he wouldn't, he has cracked down on pot...
