The "Right to work" bill would probably not have gone through in Michigan had the unions not gotten greedy and put a prop on the November 2012 ballot to basically ban right to work in spite of a warning from the Governor that it would work against unions. The prop was soundly defeated and shortly afterward Right to Work became law. Unions 0-Michigan 1. Unions threatened the Governor and Legislators, showed their true colors in violence and it still became law. Now maybe Michigan can begin to pull itself up by its bootstraps.

Another reason the Governor put "Right-to-Work" on the ballot was that corrupt union officials in the city of Detroit were obstructing attempts by the Governor and Mayor Dave Bing to straighten out Detroit's fiscal mess and avoid putting the state in charge of micro-managing Detroit's finances.

These corrupt unionized bureaucrats don't want the city's finances managed by the state or any other honest entity because they will lose the hundreds of thousands they are stealing in the form of bribes, payoffs, and kickbacks.
