Everyone seems to be surprised that uber-liberal Google didn't honor the most conservative group in America's founder. I'm not. I didn't really expect them to. I'm not sure if they every have had a Easter doodle. I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't.
"The way toll roads were forced on the public in parts of Texas without a real vote..." Not sure what you are talking about. Here in Houston, we have toll roads that we voted to put in place. "There is a deafening silence from the left about the disparate impact toll roads have on the poor." Perhaps it's different elsewhere, but here in Houston, the toll roads run parallel to existing non-toll roads. If you don't want to pay a toll to get from Channel View to Deer Park, take the 610 Loop. If you want faster and less traffic, pay a toll and take Beltway 8. So, actually, the toll-ways HELP the poor because there is no tax hike on their gas to pay for the roads. Only the people who use the roads pay for it.

One of These Things is Not Like the Other

The problem is that the government should have never gotten involved in marriage in the first place. From it's conception, marriage is a religious institution. The Fed got involved in order to give tax breaks to families. Now, the government wants to tell us what religious groups can call a family. This is always the way of government: all it takes is a foot in the door and they will take over the whole house. This is the reason I'm against school vouchers: we let the government grace us with giving our money back and they will start mandating that private schools do the same things as the crummy public schools. The Fed gov needs to takes it's hands out of people pockets and laws out of areas that should be left to the states.

With all due respect to Dr. Sowell, Dr. Carson's rise didn't occur due to, or in spite of, the color of his skin. It was due to a mother that believed in him, encouraged him and sacrificed for him. Today's mothers sacrifice their children on the alter of selfishness and self-absorption. Dr. Carson's mom sacrificed herself for her childern, not her children for herself. America stopped being great when it's people stopped being willing to sacrifice for the greatness of others and instead sacrifice the future for a good time in the present.
You missed the big point, Ann. When Libs ask the question: "How many bullets do you need?" or "What kind of gun do you need?" or any other question with the word "need" in it what they are really saying is "How much will you let the government control this aspect of your life?" If a Lib asks you a "need" question respond with "How many does Article 10 of the US Constitution say the Government can limit me to?" (For all you Liberals out there, the answer is that it says it CAN'T limit you.)

The Truth in Love Police

Liberals have no idea what truth or love is. Jesus called out the pharisees for their worldliness (what we in modern America would call Liberalism) and said that they were hypocrites and vipers. Did He not act in love??? According to liberals, no. Most liberals think love is letting someone do whatever they want so as not to hurt their feelings. This is wrong. The biblical definition of love is to show people the way to get right (see John 3:16). If we don't correct wrongs then we are acting in hate, not love.

People who identify themselves as "conservative" and voted for Obama are liars. As my pastor's wife used to say: "You're actions speak so loudly that I can't hear a word you're saying."

Experts Aren't Deities

My father always said to break down the word "expert." An EX is a has-been. A "spert" is a drip under pressure. I have to agree with him. Most "experts" I have read or heard are simply has-been drips under pressure.
Let's see which legislatures are overpaid. These stats are from http://www.empirecenter.org/html/legislative_salaries.cfm Texas: $7,200/year California: $95,291/year I'm sorry, who's overpaid again??? Most of Texas' legislators make their money from running businesses. Most of CA's make their money from being politicians. People will vote for their own pocketbook. Texas' legislators pass bills helping businesses. CA's legislators pass bills raising taxes. Each group passes bills that help themselves. The biggest difference is that the Texas legislators help others as they help themselves while the CA legislators steal from others to help themselves.
