social security sanity is just like the national debt. we need to reduce the national debt, but not today, no thank you. today we will just increase the debt at a rate that is a little less than that desired by the most wild eyed of spending-crazed obamites. tomorrow, we will increase the debt a little more slowly. magically, at some time beyond comprehension, we will finally start not increasing the debt at all. but not now. lord no, we have the votes of stupid people to buy today.

Republicans are 1-4 against President Obama, having lost two elections and two big showdowns with him. The only time the GOP won a round was after the blowout of 2010, and that win was limited in time –a two year extension of the Bush era tax rates.

There are at least three more showdowns with the president ahead, one of them in the immediate future as the debt limit looms.
