Having freedom to smoke pot, and having freedom to smoke pot on the job or in the classroom are not the same thing. Booze is legal, and people that show up to class drunk are sent home....same with work.

Gotta agree with Andy here. I was not inclined to vote R this go around, but was convinced by others that I had to in order to prevent his excellency from ruining the country. But as another poster said, what difference does it make what letter is behind the name if the result is the same. I'll be re-registering as an independent, removing myself from the R mailing lists and voting for small government, big liberty candidates, regardless of party. If it comes down to holding my nose to vote for some big spending clown, I simply won't vote.

Well, I'd be inclined to agree with you except for this part: "No one is trying to ban guns. Period." One doesn't have to look hard to find many of our prominent "leaders" suggesting just that. This is simply the 4th of 5th of 500th (I don't know how many gun laws are already on the books) step in getting there.
