Thanks for the story, Doug. I thank your dad for the work that he did. It's sad that so many of his patients probably wouldn't have a shot at life today. I've heard that 9 out of 10 downs syndrome babies are aborted after diagnosis. While I can somewhat understand the fear of the unknown that comes with that diagnosis..why are babies being aborted for having a cleft lip/palate?

Yes, we are the California of the midwest. We have two large cities full of free-loading, drugged out communists, and the rest of the state is about 80-90% reasonable, hard-working types. Most "blue" states are the same. If you ever look at one of the red/blue maps, it is vastly red...even in WI & CA.

Good article! I agree, Gov. Walker is going to win in a few weeks. Ms. Chavez, I loved seeing your family's story on Finding Your Roots too. Very interesting =)
They are sooo going to lose two weeks from today. I can't wait. I drove from Green Bay to Illinois last week. I must've seen 100 Scott Walker yard signs, and the only Barrett sign I saw was in front of the union hall. ha ha Now I did see a couple of Prius's and Chevy Volt's plastered with "Recall Walker" and other more profane statements against our Governor, but I'm not too worried about them. They'll probably be in too much of a drug induced haze to get out and vote, or boycotting a job somewhere because it harms Mother Earth.

Right on KrankyMike. Well said. Marriage is the building block of society. Without marriages and strong families, civilizations crumble. No one is trying to outlaw homosexual relationships or partnerships, no matter how much we may disagree with them...but they cannot, by definition, be a marriage.
