So..... Can't get elected these days if enough financial backing can't be arranged. That's a big part of being "electable". Yes, Romney has personal wealth, but that in itself is not enough. He is also able to get donations amounting to many times more than he is willing or able to furnish from personal sources. If his personal fortune was the most important factor, then I would say the presumptive nominee would be Donald Trump. By most estimates his net worth is several times that of Romney's.

If the elections were held today, I would vote for Mitt Romney rather than sit out the elections or cast a protest vote for a third party candidate. But I would do so with extremely limited hopes, and my very act of voting in November would be a reminder to me that I cannot expect the radical changes America needs to come from the White House.
