Sherman and Truman knew how to end wars and the resulting slaughter. War is hell and there will always be thousands of innocent lives lost. That didn't seem to matter to the CSA or the Japanese Empire who started those respective atrocities. That is until Sherman and Truman unleashed the "Scorched Earth" tactic. Result: War over, the killing stopped. Netanyahu needs to "March to the Sea" and end this slaughter once and for all.
"we must realize the historical pattern of things usually gets real frickin’ bad before it gets better." (Yes, and “…the historical pattern of things usually gets real frickin bad before…” annialation! Whatever happened to Prussia, Austria-Hungary, the German Empire of the 1800’s and early 1900’s. To go back further – there was the Assyrian Empire, the Hittite Empire, and Ancient Egypt. In the Western world there was Athens, Sparta and Macedonia followed by the Roman Empire. On our own continent there were the Myans as well as the Aztec and Incan empires. Things got “real frickin’ bad” for all of these world powers but I don’t think a case can be made that it ever got better for any of them!) jh
I doubt that even Byron York realizes that the the very valid points and issues he points out in this article may in fact be the preliminary death knell of the Republican Party. The much ballyhooed November turn-around may very well turn out to be a Democratic rout as many Republicans throw in the towel in disgust and stay home. Not my plan but something I see as an increasing possibility. With the additional reality that it would take a massive Republican turnout to overcome the massive Democratic fraud, even a slightly reduced "off year" turnout will be disastrous for the GOP. With the "Leadership" continuing to talk up amnesty, waving the flag of surrender on the AHCA, and seeming to be powerless to make any attempt to stop the usurpation of power, what incentive do Conservatives have to keep them in power? Again, not my course of action but one I see as a very real possibility.
Your right but I'm not sure how many appreciate the fact that Mitch McConnell may well have sentenced us to more like her. His vicious attacks on Conservatives may well have disaffected them enough that we will see a repeat of the Libertarian and Evangelical revolt of 2012 with the possible outcome of Harry Reid retaining control of the Senate. People can moralize till the cows come home about how wrong such a reaction would be but it won't change the reality of the potential.

Unbelievable! After all these years the charlatan, trotskyite who fabricated a false name and identity still has his Kool-aid drinkers. Obviously you were not one of the elderly that he was convicted of defrauding of millions of dollars. However, it seems a safe bet that you are in that category that he wrote about in 1973 saying: "the use of certain psychological techniques on recruits, that a worker's persona had to be stripped away to arrive at a state he called "little me," from which it would be possible to "rebuild their personalities around a new socialist identity," I guess you prove his point.
I agree Alvin. While I admire Star, she seems to fail to recognize that when one side is fighting with one hand tied behind their back it's not a fight, it's a capitulation. There are many strong conservative, principled blacks but they need to quit preaching to the committed conservatives and get back out in the community and churches and shake the bushes and demand an "Amen".
I'm beginning to think that precisely because "...the D's are so destructive..." that is the better alternative to the current GOP who stand for nothing and differ from the Dems only in that they lack principles so they are slower in bringing down the Republic. The more Socialists we can put in power and the sooner, the quicker the Country will enter "The dark night of the Soul" and then maybe after a hundred years or so of abject poverty and enslavement we might once again develop the moral backbone to overthrow the oppressors and hit restart.
Why? Is Boehner going to change overnight? Is McConnell going to turn into a prince after "crushing the Tea Party"?
