Immigration Reform Is Pro-Growth

Larry, you're a not off track. No doubt immigration CAN be pro growth. But there's a difference between supporting immigration, and delivering 10 million DEM voters to the public dole. There must be more to immigration policy than economics. Even of you were correct about the economics - it does not justify sacrificing our culture and sovereignty to appease border jumpers and their sympathizers.
This is trash. The language of this "compromise" has been written, published, and I've read it. It ASOLUTELY does craft a framework for a federal gun registry. This writer is a naive, useful idiot helping pave the way for future generations of Americans to be subjects of violent and brutal tyranny. Also it doed NOT exempt private sales for anyone but immediate family. It requires gun owners to be Associated to each gun and to report any transfer, loss, or theft, to the Feds - within 24 hours or go to prison. Someone tell me how this can be enforced without a federal gun registry?
4 years ago I advocated dropping the "unemployment rate" as a measure of economic health due to its manipulation of multiple variables. We should rather be looking at "total employment " or an employment:populating ratio.

Yep it's over. When only radically right leaning states with tiny populations - like California - overwhelmingly vote to amend their Constitution to prohibit ssm - how can ssm be anything but inevitable?

Coulter makes a good point. Once guns are removed from society, a group of thugs with baseball bats can invade almost any house on the block. Few people could defend themselves against 3 bat wielding attackers without a gun. Take guns away from the good guys - and the bad guys don't really need them.

Jonah, the rift between Libertarian and Social conservatives is not the major rift in the party today. The growing and perhaps irreconcilable difference is between grass roots members of both those segments vs. The "ruling class" members of the GOP. It's the "Bush/Rove" wing vs. the "Palin/Levin" wing. This split is real and large. It must be reconciled -neither side can win an election workout the other.

"the Kentucky senator's alarmism may not have been realistic or justified. But you can't say it wasn't useful" What kind of moronic qualifier is that? Perhaps he should read "it's not about drones" -also in today's townhall.

Bingo. It's not about drones. It's about recognizing constitutional limits on executive authority. Paul and Cruz might just as well have asked, "is there any action by your administration that could be limited by the constitution?" So, finally-after numerous attempts by Rand and Cruz; it took a Classic filibuster and media circus to get this administration to admit that they were limited in authority by the Constitution.
Well said. Additionally, local governments may be even worse. Hope this gains some traction!
