Well, I guess the reason for political cycles is George W. Bush, a president who was reportedly despised by the common person. In response, the voters elected an inexperienced JR. Senator from Ill. and T.V. campaign husker (Not the late Billy Mayes) from historically corrupt Chicago, IL.

Now the voters are said to be having second thoughts, at a minimum. Well, too bad! They made their choice and now they must live with the consequences. (Yes, political elections have real world consequences). By the way, who are the real "bums"? The elected officials or the voters who elected them?

The private sector long ago decided that a High School Diploma or even a college education did not necessarily mean higher quality applicants, or even literate ones. By literate, I do not necessarily mean well read, just an ability to read, write, comprehend, add, subtract, multiply and divide (The old fashioned "3'rs").

The private sector seldom wants to develop anyone or pay for more capability than the job actually requires. They need a functionary, not a "professional". This limited view is of course a problem for another day.
