How Awful Is GE?

GE had 14 billion in worldwide income but only 5 billion of that was in the US. Of that they paid no taxes. The other taxes were paid in other countries on GE's lending operations which cannot get out of a loophole. That is why they are there. I don't blame GE for trying to avoid the taxman. I do have fault when they hijack a television station and the US government to raie taxes on everyone else while creating loopholes for themselves. Good work!
These results are interesting, but since noone has really run yet, people have not solidified their views yet. The Christy vote tells me one thing and that debt, deficits, and fiscal management is the top issue among Republicans. Christy best symbolizes that as a name so peopel are gravitating towards him. If another leader successfully takes that mantle it will shift. Also a number of moderates and more independent republicans are represented in these polls. This is where I beleive Christy gets most of his support.

Friday Fun: Analyzing the GOP Field

Rick Santorum has got to be really offended by this piece. Fox lays him off because he is running and the Economist mentions Herman Cain, Bolton but not him. For my two cents the brits pretty much nailed all these pretty close. Thoough how does mitch Daniels get a moderate tag. Last time I checked he was pro-life and pro-family values. Oh I remember he said that our looming bankruptcy was more important right now. I guess to the Economist that makes a Reopublican moderate.
If I recall (Though many people do not want to) Daniels promised to keep Indiana right to work in his last campaign in return for a large scale retrenchment in collective bargaining. While I would like Indiana to be Right to Work, I think Daniels is holding his end of the deal. This is what it is to be a governor. You have to make tough tradeoffs. As bad as people may think would rather see a governor than a legislator, someone who must live with the consequence of their decisions instead of just spouting.
Christy who is pro-life, but not an idealogue has done more to show how its done then any twenty pro-life grandstanders. cut down rthe funding. Unlike pro-life self proclaimed hero Rick Santorum who spent 12 years in Pennsylvania carrying on about his pro-life positions while doing nothing to further inspections and restrictions in Pennsylvania where the state was getting progressively worse in enforcement. We are entering a new era where major results are possible if we stop the grandstanding and just make measurable progress.
Closing and reopening schools is a great tactic because it gets around tenure rules which keeps you from being fired but not laid off. They lay off everyone and they you have to apply for your old job. In Philadelphia they are doing this for then 10 worst performing schools in the city.
Excellent post from a person who clearly knows liberals. If people think Obama is faking on charters they both don;t know his history and the recent shifts in the liberal intelligentsia towards the charter movement. Obama relies on the the unions for his power, but his philosiphy comes straight out of the liberal intelligentsia playbook, and they have been trending against the teacher's unions for the last few years. It is not good of me to see this since I am very conservative (Even though I work with all liberals) but many republicans and conservatives are blinded by their hatred of many liberals and the president to see the natural allies they have here. Of course this isn;t totally the case. Chris Christie and Tom Corbett have...

Did Obama Forget About the Teachers Union?

I think those are discussed all the time, but its not just conservatives who are saying these things. Therewas a little movie called "Waiting for Superman" made by liberals that say the same. Connservatives and liberals have alotof common cause here. But teachers are not the only issue, but we cannot ignore that they are a major issue.
Not funny. Would put this with Rushes humor attempts in the "who cares" camp. I saw Morgan on a comedy show and his word on Michele Obama are about at this level. I think his view on females is not politically based.
