Just a little trivia for those who like trivia. The US has not elected a President under the height of 5'9" since Harry Truman in 1948. While height alone is obviously not the deciding factor in Presidential elections it appears that a significant number of Americans preceive taller candidates as having the necessary leadership skills. The shortest President elected in the past 32 years was George W. Bush at 5' 11 1/2". At 5' 7", Rand Paul would be the shortest President since William McKinley in 1897, should he be elected.
