What We Learned in Iraq

If.......you accept the premise that Bush wasted 1.7 trillion dollars and 4000 American lives for nothing on the Iraq war, then you also have to accept that Obama has wasted about 6 trillion dollars and how many American jobs (the number of persons who have dropped out of the job market). Just longing for one "good" President I could be proud of. Maybe next time.......?

You can make a pretty good case that FDR's cousin Teddy started the ball rolling...

Macroman: You forgot the man who started the "official" progressive "fundamental transformation" of our government--Woodrow Wilson!
Ten years ago this week, Americans were about to be introduced to a strange new concept, as they awaited the U.S. war to bring regime change in Iraq. Coined by American military officers, it encapsulated a situation in which everything went right until everything went wrong. The term was "catastrophic success."

But before the war began, supporters were bursting with confidence. Vice President Dick Cheney predicted that "we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators." The Pentagon expected to withdraw most troops by summer's end. Reconstruction would be a bargain because Iraq would pay for it with oil revenues.

Wrong, wrong and wrong...
