In response to:

Is America Ensnared in an Endless War?

Buchanan doesn't understand that to the people on TH and other "conservative" sites, there is no such thing as "blowback". When we kill their children, the muzzies cheer us for it. They LOVE us to bomb their families, occupy their countries, prop up dictators, etc. It is our "freedom" they hate. THAT is why they attack us.

I see you are buying all the nonsense from the Israel-firsters.

They hate us for "freedom"? There are other countries with more freedom like Sweden and Holland.

Why aren't they attacked?

The "they hate our freedom" nonsense means we do nothing to antagonize them.

We are constantly sticking our nose into the Middle East's business.

Herman -- Please re-read what I wrote. You will see that I am criticizing the nonsense spouted by the people on TH who say they hate us because of our freedom.

No, blame an internationalist foreign policy dominated by neocons.

Sorry I went back and re-read your comments.

I see your point now even though it could have phrased a little better.

Sarcasm or being facetious doesn't translate well to the printed word.

Traitor Bill:

I will not ignore America's faults when we have them. When we do things that are wrong, we must be blamed for it.

Where have you been Herman? You haven't read any of Corbett's previous? There are a handful of folks I always enjoy reading. Corbett is one.
"When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal."

So said Richard Nixon in his interviews with David Frost. Nixon was talking about wiretaps and surreptitious entries to protect lives and safeguard national security in a violent and anarchic war decade.

The Nixon haters pronounced themselves morally sickened.

Fast forward to our new century. For, since 9/11, we have heard rather more extravagant claims by American presidents.

Under George W. Bush, it was presidential authority to waterboard, torture, rendition and hold enemy aliens in indefinite detention at Guantanamo.

Under Barack Obama, we don't have a Nixon "enemies list"...
