I have been voting since Reagan's first term. His second election was the last time the GOP ran a candidate who was even remotely "conservative". (And Reagan was only very remotely a conservative. He was a New Deal Democrat, but he at least had the conservative patter down pat.) The notion that a party that continually nominates the likes of Romney, McCain, Doles and the two Bushes is "conservative" is laughable. Conservatives have been trying to take over the GOP since Goldwater. That has been about 50 years. Five decades of fruitless struggle should be enough to convince people that the GOP is a hopeless case. It is well past time to abandon the GOP and build a real conservative party.

Why re-invent the wheel? Most conservatives are registered as Republicans, and far to many "Libertarians" are really libertines in sheep's clothing.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has been suborned by the Progressives, as they both believe that a big government bureaucracy rules more wisely and well, than the general population making its own decisions.

Show me a sore loser, and I’ll show you a loser. This has rung in my ears since the election, as I listened to some fellow Republicans and conservatives weeping, whining, and caterwauling. Not to mention griping, blaming, and sulking. Enough already.

Good losers being similarly scorned, who does that leave? Political party animals who rebound from a loss with humility, humor, and honesty. Happy warriors who take a setback in stride, undaunted yet undefensive. Those are the comrades I’ll share a shell-shocked foxhole with. The authors of anguished obituaries for America and the GOP need not apply.

For a couple...
