Theft is theft. And if you really want to hear some screeching, point out to the Social Security recipients that THEY are engaging in theft.

There is one problem that he did not mention. We have lost our ability to distinguish toleration for acceptance. We no longer have the ability to say that while we are willing to tolerate some behavior or viewpoint, it is wrong. The PC crowd has deemed THAT viewpoint as wrong and will not tolerate it. (Perhaps Strossel should do a column on LIBERAL intolerance.) Example: We are no longer allowed to say, "While homosexuality is deviant and wrong, we will tolerate people who engage in sodomy in the privacy of their bedroom." Now we must EMBRACE and CELEBRATE homosexuality. We, as taxpayers, must pay for homosexual parades. We must celebrate homosexual "marriage" and we cannot tolerate those who would hold religious views against homosexuality. "Toleration" has taken on a new and perverted meaning that is destroying our nation's moral compass.
eyes: Actually, liberalism is just one of the prerequisites. Rule by black politicians is another. Look at Berkeley. It has been more leftist for longer than Chicago. But Berkeley doesn't have black government & is not the hellhole that places like Chicago, Detroit, Memphis, etc. are.

Impeachment, a Bridge Too Far

Fed: The GOP did not want to remove Clinton from office. But their base told them that the GOP was finished if they did not impeach. The Senate told the House that Clinton would NEVER be removed from office over Monica. THAT is why the House ignored the myriad of other offences Clinton committed (money laundering, selling secrets to the Chinese, selling ambassadorships, etc.) and impeached Clinton for Monica and Monica alone. The GOP did not want to campaign against President Gore. So they put party before the good of the country.

Manny: I think it will be dismissed for lack of jurisdiction. The court will (rightly) say that it has no jurisdiction over the policy decisions of the Executive Branch.

Dyadd: The GOP doesn't have the guts to use the power of the purse. They will never have the guts to impeach either.

Politically, impeachment is impossible. But sometimes, you have to ignore what is possible and do what is right. Obama is a tyrant. If the GOP refuses to stand up to his tyranny, things will only get worse. The Constitution has a remedy for the type of tyranny exhibited by Obama. That remedy is impeachment. So is the GOP going to stand up for the Constitution and the American people or not? The GOP wants the courts to do their dirty work, but the courts are likely to refuse. They are likely to say that they do not have jurisdiction over the political actions of another branch of government -- and this is what they SHOULD say. Which brings us back to impeachment. I see the argument that impeachment is impossible and would backfire. I understand that. But to sit around and do nothing as the tyrant destroys our nation and the rule of law is not acceptable.

Tin: They DO say something about Christ though. They contain prophecies about the Messiah -- which Jesus fulfilled.
Ann: Don't you know? Everything came from nothing without a cause and by a random process. Personally, I think it takes more faith to believe that balderdash than to believe in God.
Jeff: It is funny that the left's answer is more government. When Jesus reigns on earth, there will be no government because we will ALL do what God expects of us. Then (and only then) the world will be libertarian.

This is an important point. People claim that there are no terrorists other than Islamic terrorists. This is simply not the case. As the author points out, there are Jewish terrorists. There are also Christian terrorists (the IRA comes to mind). There are Hindu terrorists. There are Buddhist terrorists. And there are atheist terrorists. Terrorism is a tactic and is non-sectarian.
