seems as though John Ransom and Hugh Hewitt are on the same page in more ways than one. Buckeyes rule.

unfortunately the imbeciles at the naacp unfairly punished current Buckeyes for the sins of a coach who lacked all scruples and the idiocy of the rules that doesn't allow players to sell off their personal property for some ready cash

but as Sports Illustrated has written, the pity the teams facing the Buckeyes next fall for they will be wreaking pay-back for the unjust snub they received

I have long contended that when the schools are making millions from the football teams they should be allowed to give the players a weekly stipend, since for all practical purposes they are employees of the school

Major college footbal players are compensated. When you add up tuition, room and board, and books it's pretty lucrative. Also, very few university athlectic departments run in the black. For instance, the U of M athletic dept hat only 2 years of surplus during the decade of the 90s.

too true, but having some loose change in their pocket in exchange for their efforts to earn the university money and letting them step out for a beer and burger with their more affluent teammates should still be something within the rules

on the other hand, I also believe that if you can't get into the universities because of academic ability, you shouldn't be there to play sports either

I think its time to CUTBACK the "football" program and that of Basketball too. It's gotten way out of hand with over paid coaches and expensive venues; Not to mention all the "benefits" and other forms of "compensation".

And maybe that is because they pay their coaches an obscene amount of money.

If you read me regularly, you’ll know that there are very few things that I feel strongly about ;-). I’m kind of a wilting violet in print, who tries hard not to impose his views on readers. Instead, I paint words pictures of objective fact, interlaced with strongly-reasoned logical progressions that allows readers to form their own opinions unguided by me. Today is no different.

Unions suck.

Really they do. I have said this before, as an objective fact:

“They suck the money out...
