McDonnell is not viable, because he's not a self-made man. He was selected and groomed by Phil Cox, a brilliant PR guy, as a tool for Cox's behind the scenes success. BTW, Cox, after getting McDonnell elected Attorney General and then Governor of VA (and making TONS of money through various political consulting firms running McDonnell's campaigns), became the Executive Director of the Republican Governor's Association. All very cozy. If you look at VA and see a success story, look to Cox, the man, not McDonnell, the mannequin.
